The training course "Autism, awareness and instruments. The A.T.D.R.A. Approach". A.T.D.R.A. has the purpose to spread awareness on autism, through a new vision, a new perspective, based on the redefinition of the concept of symptom.
Unlike conventional approaches that view autism through external behaviour, ATDRA delves into the inner psyche of the autistic being; we don't recognize the symptom as a stigma, a problem to vanquish, but as an opening, that if used correctly, can become a functional relational bridge.
Looking at the therapeutic panorama, we can find a tendency to put in place strategies and procedures built to "manage" the individual with autism, without asking if the autism is really known and understood.
The A.T.D.R.A. approach strongly believes that a person does not need to be managed, but supported through an active listening, and helped.
The A.T.D.R.A. method is built on the mechanism of the autistic functioning.
The approach aims on pointing out and supporting the potential of the individuals, building activities around their "special interests".
The course is structured with a theoretical part organized with frontal lessons and a practical part with dynamic interactions among the students, with role-play, and emotional experiences for the empathetic training. At the end of the course a certificate of participation will be given. The certificate will be converted in "A.T.D.R.A. operator License" if the student after the internship will be considered suitable.
The A.T.D.R.A. therapist is obliged to be supervised and to attend to the update courses organized during the year by the association.
The association "For-you A.T.D.R.A." provides psychology training, towards operators, teachers, parents, and caregivers in general.
